24 Things To Do This Summer: 2018

In June 2018, I started bullet journaling. As part of this, I created a number of lists of things I wanted to do, places I wanted to go, things I wanted to experience. None of these things had due dates, it was just satisfying to see them all written down.

One of the only lists that did have a time limit was what I wanted to do over summer – a summer bucket list of 2018*. Some seem more achievable than others but be sure to check out what I would like to do in summer in 2018 and what I have already done.

*I am taking ‘summer’ as from the start of May until the end of September.

I have made a great start on this giant to-do list. I hope to complete as much as possible over the summer.

Is there anything on this list that you would like to do, or maybe something you have already done? Let me know in the comments below.

  1. Omg you have so many on the list that makes me excited! You saw Shakira!!!

Haha and the one about the blog launch. I was so nervous when I published my first post! 🙈 haha I never made a bucket list in my life for some reason, and you made me want to write it down somewhere.

    1. Haha you and me both! Shakira was amazing – she was on in london and we left it like a week before the concert to buy tickets! That’s so good gal, you should get writing! Making lists gives you such a sense of achievement when you tick them off although it is frustrating when you haven’t ticked anything for ages! I made a places bucket list too but don’t know if I should blog it!! x

    1. Thank you ♥ The night zoo should be on everyone’s summer lists! I know right, £3 and not even any strawberry sauce – but it was from a very old, traditional little ice cream cart thing in the park which was really charming (but still, 3 pounds!!!) x

  2. Summer bucket lists are superb! I feel summer always goes by so quickly, that if you don’t make plans, you’ll barely do anything. And then end up bummed come along fall – because there was so much you were still supposed to do! Fingers crossed you finish off your list (or at least your favorites) 😊

    1. Exactly how I was feeling too! Winter seemed to go on for about 6 months (but luckily summer is doing the same) so I wanted to enjoy every day as much as possible. I think I will do another list for September – what I did and didn’t get to do! x

    1. That ice cream was so delish! I would recommend going to Sky Garden at least once because entry is free, I just thought it was a bit overhyped – no guarantee of anywhere to sit/very crowded and £15 cocktails! (a lot even for london!)

  3. You have accomplished so much of your list already! I am super jealous about the Shakira one. I love her.

I created a bucket list of my own but nothing too exciting, mostly stuff to do with my kids. My husband and I did take our yearly trip to South Haven, MI and that was definitely the highlight of my summer so far.

Have fun completing the rest of your list!

    1. Thank you 🙂 I do love making lists so I can tick things off as I go! I don’t know how much more of it I’ll get to do because of my job situation but fingers crossed! I can’t wait for my next trip somewhere – it’s been a long summer with no holidays! x

  5. Good luck on the job hunt! You have some great things on your list, I’ve been saying I want to go to the zoo for months but going at night time sounds even more magical! I was tempted to try and get tickets for the Sky Garden but don’t think my Fiancé would appreciate it much and if you found it underwhelming I’m not sure I should now! I’ve always wanted to visit Bournemouth too it looks so gorgeous in pictures! On my bucket list for the rest of summer is to enjoy my birthday, go to the zoo and go on a road trip for bank holiday!

    1. Thank you so much – hopefully something will turn up soon! I’d recommend still going to the Sky Garden – it is a nice view (and free to go) but the drinks and food sure so make up for it – which is what I found really disappointing for the food/drinks you get. I hadn’t been to Bournemouth since I will little so it was nice to go with my man ♥ I hope you enjoy the zoo – the road trip sounds so cool, I’d like to do something similar then too! Happy Birthday in advance x

      2. I think (not 100% sure) that they release tickets every week or two weeks for just one or two weeks in advance (for the free entry). They are always released on Mondays too and can be booked on their website. Hope this helps 🙂 x

  6. Oh what a lovely list, wishing I made one this summer now too since the weather has been so nice lately! Ok, a ’99’ is £3 now?? Why are they trying to rob us? Haha, I need to watch the sunset at some point too, it’s always so beautiful! Love this list!

    1. Thank you for reading my summer list ♥ It isn’t too late to make one! The best part is now you can include things you have already done and tick them off! I knew I wouldn’t be the only one to find the 99 thing ridiculous but it was still so yummy!

  8. Thank you Ellie, you gave me a lot of ideas! I have as well a list of things I’d like to do this summer. First of all I have to decide where to go after London. There so many places I want to visit, but I think I’ll choose another European capital!

  9. I love your list Ellie! Cambridge is so nice in summer, I went there just two weekends ago and it was stunning. I would recommend renting a punt if you’re going with friends, it’s such a nice way to see the city and enjoy the river. I would also love to climb over the O2, it’s one of the things to do on my Ultimate London Bucket List! Let me know if you do it first, I would love to hear your thoughts 🙂

    1. Oooh that sounds like so much fun! 🚣‍♀️ I hope I get to go there before the end of the summer. Every time I’m at the O2 I get super motivated to do it but never get around to booking it! It’s on my London Bucket list too which I think I’ll share soon 😂😃 apparently it’s meant to be so much fun!
